Steve’s Favorite Northern Virginia & Maryland Cycling Routes

Steve likes to ride his bicycle, here are some of his favorite routes for you to enjoy!

Mountain Rd. Loop

Distance: 39.9 Miles

Terrain: Moderate
Ride Description:
W&OD Trail and light traffic roads. Rolling to moderate hill climbing.

 

White’s Ferry to Sugarloaf

Distance: 36.18 Miles

Terrain: Moderate
Ride Description:
Short segments on wide Route 15 shoulder. Includes traveling on White’s Ferry across Potomac with a cost of two dollars. One long climb up Sugarloaf and killer descent.

 

 

Mount Weather and Middleburg Ride

Distance: 79.81 Miles

Terrain: Moderate to Difficult
Ride Description:
Mostly rolling hills with beautiful scenery. Includes several big climbs. BE VERY CAREFUL OF DESCENT ON BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAIN RD. STOP AT BOTTOM OR YOU MIGHT DIE.

 

 

White’s Ferry to Key Bridge Loop

Distance: 86.4 Miles

Terrain: Moderate
Ride Description:
Includes short sections on wide shoulder of Route 15 and a short ride on White’s Ferry with a cost of two dollars. The first half of the ride is on moderate hills and the second half is mainly on bike trails.

 

 

White’s Ferry to Key Bridge Loop

Distance: 86.4 Miles

Terrain: Moderate
Ride Description:
